You all know how I feel about KP. I think I have a legitimate claim to the title of number one fan. I'm at least in the top ten.

but when it comes to Disney's mistreatment of the series, I've been banging my head against the wall for six years and Ive just run out of fight.

I saw this day coming years ago and long sense recorded and burned the entire series to my own set of DVDs. I also recently acquired the Germain S1 DVD set although I can't (yet) play it here.

I don't doubt that for a second. I would have been there with them.

But when you think about it, KP got a pretty good run. It outlasted all of it's contemporary shows. It got an impossible fourth season. Even an EPCOT attraction (which I seriously hope I will get to see before it disappears).

Maybe I'm just easily sucked in, but I still think Disney's programs are amongst the best on TV. The plots are simplistic and tiresome at times, but they are on the whole more wholesome and just as funny (if not more so) than anything you would see on the networks.

And Wayne, I don't have anything against Adam. We wouldn't have gotten KP season 4 without his efforts and with 20/20 hindsight I have to admit he was right about more than I've given him credit for. But what's done is done.

Now, as I had quickly referenced the Eisner era. So I have to wonder what you think. Would Disney/Disney Channel be better off today with the current management, or with Eisner?

And here you go. Myself on left. Adam on right.

Iger is 10,000 times better than Eisner. It's not even close.

I wonder, what do you think about Wizards? A lot of people in their 20s love Wizards cause it's humor and references are often for the older crowd. It's definitely Disney's most racy show at times, although GLC does manage to get some heavy jokes past the radar occasionally. :P Wizards is arguably the best show on DC right now, which is why I wonder if you ever gave it a chance.

Yes, seen Wizards numerous times. And of the sitcoms currently playing, I'd have to say it is one of the better ones. :)

Was there something that first "buried in an unmarked grave" thing was specifically referring to?

Yeah, yeah, slow on the uptake. I don't check this place much.

By the by, while P&F may be the only animated thing left in the regular line-up, it's the best animated thing they've done since KP. I personally like it more than the L&S series, though I may be in a minority on that one. They're also doing a huge blitz on it. I'm hoping its success will lead to a re-examining of old animated properties, but... I mean heck, they haven't given HM season sets, and it's become a cultural phenomenon.

... Random not-entirely-on-topic. It occurs to me that there are a LOT of shows from the past 10 years that fall into the same boat: Disney refusing to release season sets in NA (Region 1), despite some of them getting sets not only in Germany but also in other English-speaking territories, so they wouldn't even suffer additional production costs. Has there been like, any effort anywhere to unite those in some sort of a "Season sets, not random eps" movement?

Hey, that rhymed.

And yes, I realize most of those shows have at some point been available on iTunes, but they seem to offer different seasons at arbitrary times, and even if I did burn those to DVD (and I'm not sure if that violates the EULA or not), it wouldn't have nice menus and whatnot.

That's actually part of the the SDS mission statement. Has been since the start.

Ok, let me rephrase. Has there been a concentrated effort specifically for that? SDS (what's left of it) tends to be focused on individual shows, with DVDs as an after-thought. Though that may have changed.

What efforts are even still active under the SDS umbrella?

You asked for "any effort anywhere." A significant effort? no. But that is a major part of my plan for the "new SDS." When will we see this new totally redesigned site? No clue.

Ah. That doesn't answer the other question, though. What SDS-affiliated things are still active?

And what happened with that other group Adam and them started? For that matter, is MKP still active at all?

...Ok, not related to the topic, but it's not like there's a ton of activity here.

Um... that depends on your definition of active. If the benchmark is that the website is updated once monthly, they all are. Is there a serious movement for any movement likely to actually get anything done? Maybe L&S.

It looks like it's gone. It used to be http://www.saveourshows.org/. Maybe Wayne knows more.

I never joined after the board there decided to pre-ban my usual username. I took it as a sign that I wasn't wanted.

Mike's site was savetheshows.com or .org I think, and that's gone now too, I think.

http://fightforkp.com/ still exists. But hasn't been updated since 2008.

ElvisJJ is running a spin off of the Fight for Five movement on some proborards forum. He's given me the link a couple times, but I can never remember it. It's not very memorable. People underestimate the value of a good domain name like savekp.com It's short and easy to remember.

There's some discussion there. About as much as there is here.

Agree. It's fun, entertaining, great cast. But really at least since KP's production ended, what really have we had to compare it to?

Disagree. But I know that a big shock to everyone.

I can at least say that Save L&S is still very active. We never have, and never will have the record breaking members that Save KP had. So will we have the success that Save KP had? I hope so. But it would be tough. We are facing the same fate that KP is. Disney recently killed Lilo & Stitch's morning time slot. Bringing the new Stitch! series to the US is still nothing more then a rumor at this point. And we're still fighting for our DVD box sets. But between Save Our Stitch and the Ohana Shout Out (which really when started out was only meant to be sort of a guestbook, but ended up being a community of its own, with over 30,000 posts!), there are about a dozen active members. Some have been there for years. Many new faces started showing up when Stitch! was released in Japan. And there's still new faces popping up regularly today. And still today to see the continued interest in Lilo & Stitch and the regular heartfelt e-mails I get from people telling me how much Lilo & Stitch means to them, it's my motivation to keep this going as long as I can. :-)

Epic Fail, is really all I can say about Save Our Shows. Nothing personal against the creators of that movement. But it was doomed from the start. Save Our Shows was only created as an effort to create a "better SDS". Then after that fire died out, the site slowly started to die as well. Nothing got updated on the site. The forum slowly started to die. Adam went on his mission. Phil got involved in his web hosting company. Brian was busy with school and his new job. It could have been something big. But no one listened to Greg's advice on how much effort it takes to start a movement and attract members. There haven't been posts at the forum for at least a year. They let the domain expire. And yeah, that's about it.

With all due respect, I would not consider a dozen active members to be "very active." I would say "small but dedicated" or something to that effect.

Of course, that's not to say that you shouldn't try. And the L&S movement has my full support.

 Yeah, that kinda sums it up. Honestly, I wish it would have worked but I knew from the start that it wasn't going to without an unprecedented amount of effort.

With all due respect (of course) I still consider the group to be at least "active".

If you're comparing our activity with that of Save KP (past or present), I'm not trying to put ourselves up to the level that Save KP was. I don't really know what the current activity is at MKP, or the other SDS Yahoo Groups. And it's not fair for me to compare. My focus is seeing what the activity is now at Save Our Stitch/Ohana Shout Out, watching trends, and comparing it to activity from the past. And to see many sticking around 5+ years, and still see new faces introducing themselves today; I'm very happy with the activity, and I'm very proud of our ohana. :-)

But guess everything is a matter of perspective. :)

I took a month time off to sit back and reflect on what has been accomplished on this website. The good news is that WD TVA is still active. More active than it was 5 months ago. From what I hear on the rumor websites, there are some shows still in development. Disney XD needs programming.

Now the bad news! Disney Channel has pulled its all of its pre-2007 shows off the air. :kp: got taken with it. I have not watched the channel in some time. :kp: is still available on iTunes. Also, the Epcot attraction is still doing well from Verizon's (the sponsor) point of view. They have re-upped their contract.

I would like to get people insight on what a :kp: tribute website should be within the next year. Please send us information.
